ONLINE LECTURE SERIES “CRITICAL MEDIA LITERACY: A CHALLENGE FOR TEACHER EDUCATION AND BEYOND”
With this lecture series entitled “Critical Media Literacy: A Challenge for Teacher Education and Beyond”, a joint initiative by the Heidelberg School of Education and Teachers College (Columbia University) aims for a transatlantic collaborative dialogue at the intersection of various disciplines and didactics. Lecturers, students, teachers, educators and various stakeholders in education are welcome to join in.
ABOUT YOO KYUNG CHANG
Yoo Kyung Chang is a learning experience designer and a lecturer at the program of Communication, Media, and Learning Technologies Design, Teachers College. Her research and professional expertise lies in the design and development of technology to support and understand learning and human development. Her current research focuses on the cognitive, affective, and metacognitive implications of data-driven design in diverse context ranging from online learning to media consumption behaviour, and innovative approaches to media literacy education. Previously, Yoo Kyung Chang engaged in the design and research of playful science learning at New York Hall of Science, simulation-based science learning, game-based learning, participatory design, online pedagogical support, and (in)formal medical education.
