ONLINE LECTURE SERIES “CRITICAL MEDIA LITERACY: A CHALLENGE FOR TEACHER EDUCATION AND BEYOND”
With this lecture series entitled “Critical Media Literacy: A Challenge for Teacher Education and Beyond”, a joint initiative by the Heidelberg School of Education and Teachers College (Columbia University) aims for a transatlantic collaborative dialogue at the intersection of various disciplines and didactics. Lecturers, students, teachers, educators and various stakeholders in education are welcome to join in.
ABOUT SUZANNE PRATT
Suzanne Pratt is the Co-Director of the Teaching Residents at Teachers College programme at Teachers College, Columbia University. In this position, she prepares teachers to work in urban schools, especially focusing on high-need New York City secondary schools. As a teacher and teacher educator, she has taught in both K-12 and university settings. Additionally, she has worked with universities and organisations both in the United States and internationally to enhance and improve aspects of their own teacher preparation programmes. Her research interests are focused on teacher learning and development, community development—particularly in education settings, and intergenerational learning.
