PROVIDING GUIDANCE, RESOURCES AND SUPPORT FOR TEACHER TRAINERS IN EUROPE

The aim of the project TeaMLit – Teacher education in digital and media literacy: providing guidance, resources and support for teacher trainers in Europe is to gather and share knowledge and build a sustainable network of stakeholders in media and information literacy (MIL) education. In her research with colleagues Dr Ricardo Castellini da Silva and Dr Lucia Mesquita from the Dublin City University (Ireland), Dr Lina Pranaityte (HSE) is collecting, mapping and analysing various European practices, barriers and opportunities in initial and in-service teacher education and continuing professional development in MIL.

TeaMLit runs from January 2023 to July 2024 and includes the following partners:
- Media and Learning Association (Belgium);
- Association for Communication and Media Culture (Croatia);
- Heidelberg School of Education (Germany);
- Mediawijs (Belgium);
- Dublin City University Institute for Media, Democracy, and Society (Ireland)
- Finnish Society on Media Education (Finland)

Beyond research, the TeaMLit project also aims to establish a sustainable network to provide guidance, resources and support for European teacher educators and trainers in MIL.
