AN INTERACTIVE TRANSATLANTIC WORKSHOP ON A NEW MEDIA GENRE
The ways we narrate and write about the climate crisis and other environmental issues encompass multimodal forms: films, video games, comics, novels, poetry, songs, etc. Drawing on these, our two-hour workshop will facilitate transatlantic exchange between Heidelberg and Los Angeles and collaboratively explore new pedagogical tools to engage in environmental and media education.
UCLA and HSE cordially invite teacher education students in Heidelberg and Los Angeles to participate and find out how the environmental crisis and the multimodal ways we teach and learn about it resonate across cultures.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our guest speakers
- Antonio Lopez: “Ecowriting the World” and
- Ana Honnacker: “Anthropocene & Apocalypse – Imagining Future Pathways”
as well as our own distinguished educators Jeff Share (UCLA) and Michael Haus (HSE, Heidelberg University/IPW).
