Public keynote by Prof. Dr. Mandy Singer-Brodowski, University of Regensburg

Emotions are gaining increasing attention in environmental and sustainability education (ESE) as a dynamic field of research shaped by various disciplines. 
In this keynote, Mandy Singer-Brodowski presents key theoretical perspectives and empirical findings on the role and significance of emotions in sustainability-related learning processes across different age groups. In addition, she explores practical approaches and pedagogical strategies for addressing emotions in teaching – providing relevant insights for those involved in education, research, and curriculum development in the field of ESE.

The public keynote is part of the International Autumn School "Moral Emotions in Green Transition" taking place in Heidelberg from October 6 to 9, 2025. 

ABOUT MANDY SINGER-BRODOWSKI

Prof. Dr. Mandy Singer-Brodowski has been a Professor of Education for Sustainable Development at the University of Regensburg since 2024, with her research focusing on transformative learning and social change. She was previously a visiting professor at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt and worked for many years on various research projects at the Freie Universität Berlin as part of UNA Europa. She began her academic career studying educational, special and integration pedagogy, subsequently completing a doctorate at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
