WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
AI AND CREATIVITY
An interactive evening seminar with students, faculty, current teachers

An interactive seminar will engage the participants in deep conversations around generative AI and creativity, on a public level and in classrooms. Emerging perspectives and topics will be explored in the seminar, including the opportunity of creative and cognitive partnership between learners and intelligent agents (AI), debate on the authorship and ownership of ideas, cognitive and metacognitive implications will be discussed. The seminar will be relevant to teachers in training, current teachers in practice, and faculty members working with current and future educators.
Registration: no prior registration necessary.

As we navigate the complex media ecosystem, we are constantly challenged in being well informed as a citizen and an educator. Media literacy is a set of important skills and knowledge necessary to effectively navigate and participate in this system. In this workshop you will learn how to continue to develop your media literacy skills as a citizen and a future educator.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE DESIGN WORKSHOP – INTEGRATING AI TOOLS FOR CLASSROOM LEARNING

Friday, July 7th, 2pm–4pm (2hrs)
HSE, Voßstraße 2, building no. 4330, Konferenzraum
There is an increasing discussion around how AI may be supportive or challenging for classroom learning. In this workshop, students will engage in an analysis of AI tools for the opportunities and challenges that they may impose on learning and design a learning experience to integrate the tools for classroom teaching and learning. The learning experience can be designed for young children to adult learners, in formal and informal learning contexts. No prior design experience or preparation is necessary.

DR. YOO KYUNG CHANG
Dr. Yoo Kyung Chang is an expert in Educational Communication and Technology at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York. She is also a member of the Steering Group of our HSE Research and Transfer Cluster Critical Media Literacy. During her stay in Heidelberg, Dr Chang will offer a series of interactive workshops and seminars for students, work on the further development of our joint online module on Critical Media Literacy participate in our scholarly exchange activities.
